Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI Bank Limited or IDBI Bank or IDBI) was established in 1964 by an Act to provide credit and other financial facilities for the development of the fledgling Indian industry. Many national institutes finds their roots in IDBI like SIDBI, Exim Bank, NSE and NSDL.

A former employee mentioned, "IDBI Bank is the worst place to work for, with no regard for employee welfare. The management has no clue on what it is doing and where it wants to go. The only thing you will find here is the constant pressure to work, work , work and even if you know what you are doing is wrong. Employees are encouraged to sit late, skip meals etc etc. Has to be hands down the worst place when it comes to treatment of employees. The bank says it uses cutting edge technology for banking, but the sad part is, the customers have no idea that they are using totally outdated software which constantly crashes and again it is an employee's fault if the customer complains about the digital banking facility. Wish i could give lesser stars as rating."

"A typical work day would involve arriving at the branch at opening time and serving customers waiting in the morning. This would continue till close of public hours at 3:30 or 4 pm only. The hardest part of the job is that as an officer you are not expected to have a home life and give the full 24hrs to the bank. If a customer calls even in the middle of the night you are expected to answer. The enjoyable part is the friendly staff who work at the branches.
